Jeremiah

Overview:
Jeremiah prophesied during the time when the Babylonians were emerging as the new world power. He preached to the people about God's impending judgment. During this dark period in the history of Judah (Israel had been destroyed by the Assyrians nearly a century earlier), Jeremiah offered a glimmer of hope of restoration. He also prophesied God's judgment on the surrounding nations (see Jer 46-51).
